Collaborates with clients, utility companies, government agencies, and/or the general public to identify project constraints and develop design alternatives and concepts for transportation improvement projects. Develops and presents design study reports in accordance with government agency criteria. Prepares plans, specifications, and engineer's estimates for construction of: roadways, trails, airport surfaces, traffic signals, and non-motorized transportation systems. roadway/airport resurfacing and rehabilitation projects. Collects traffic data and performs traffic studies and analysis. Works with permitting agency staff to meet local code requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and practices. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Municipality of Anchorage, State of Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering required. Licensed engineer-in-training. Proficient AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products. Ability to work in a team environment with multi-discipline engineering staff at various experience levels. Physical Requirements: Must be able to travel to various project sites. Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas. Come help us engineer a better community!
