Business Manager Department: Project Director Team Reports to:
Project Director FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Anchorage, Alaska
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Business Manager will oversee the
operational, financial, and strategic business functions of a major
long-term mining project in Alaska. This role is critical to
ensuring the smooth execution of daily operations, managing
cross-functional teams, and delivering on project objectives and
goals. They will serve as the right hand to the Project Director
and a central hub connecting the entire project team including PD
leadership team and external stakeholders throughout the entire
project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader
with strong financial acumen, strategic planning and insight,
operational expertise, and a collaborative mindset. KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES: â?¢ Provides strategic oversight and leads
cross-functional project teams to implement and oversee processes
to deliver on project objectives and goals. â?¢ Assemble skilled
teams, setting clear roles and responsibilities as well as setting
the vision and expectations for the team to meet challenging goals
and objectives. â?¢ Streamlining communications across the project
teams, resolving any conflicts that could impact project progress.
â?¢ Oversee and manage comprehensive budgets, financial planning,
project plans, and maintain overall cost and schedule forecasts for
the overall Project level, allocating resources efficiently and
advocating for additional resources (people, time or money) when
necessary. â?¢ Operational Oversight of the Business Team as well
as providing overall direction to EPCm Business teams â?¢
Development and implementation of Project Controls, Document
Control and accounting systems for the overall project as well as
providing overall direction to EPCm Business teams. â?¢ Identify
and resolve business related project issues, making critical
decisions to mitigate risks and develop strategies to minimize
their impact on project outcomes. â?¢ Coordinate and lead project
teams in all areas of engineering, procurement, construction,
ensuring effective communication and collaboration amongst teams.

contractors, and stakeholders, providing project progress updates

PD Team leads on strategic and tactical initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS: â?¢ Education & Experience â?¢ Bachelor's degree in
Business, Management, Engineering or a related field. â?¢ Minimum
of 20 years' experience in business management for large scale
capital projects. â?¢ Skills and Competencies â?¢ Proven experience
in developing and executing business strategies. â?¢ Strong Project
Controls, financial and budgetary management skills. â?¢
Familiarity with industry trends and operational best practices.
â?¢ Experience in data analysis and Project Controls reporting. â?¢
Leadership & Communication â?¢ Proven leadership and
problem-solving capabilities. â?¢ Excellent interpersonal, written,
and verbal communication skills. â?¢ Ability to work
collaboratively and lead across functional and project departments.
