Job Description:
Our ANSEP Acceleration Academy is a dual enrollment program on
the University of Alaska Anchorage's campus that supports 9th-12th
grade students who are working to earn college credits before they
graduate from high school. The Summer Acceleration Academy is a
five week residential program that brings together high school
students from across the state to earn college credits, participate
in guided study sessions and extracurricular activities. ANSEP is
seeking to hire four Summer Dorm Supervisors to support our summer
program. This role will not begin work until May 2026. This
position plays a pivotal role in ensuring students have positive
residential life experience that creates a supportive community for
students. The role incorporates risk management duties, student
support and behavior management and supervision. The position
requires staff to reside in the dorm through the entirety of the
program, and be on-call during scheduled shifts. A University meal
plan will be provided for the length of the program for all Dorm
Supervisors. The Summer Dorm Supervisor position is responsible for
supervising students, providing community building experiences,
responding to incidents, accidents, and potential emergencies, as
well as coordinating dorm logistics. The Summer Dorm Supervisor
works closely with students, Summer Academy Program Coordinators
and Assistants as well as the Summer Academy Program Manager, and
program leadership to ensure student's residential needs are met.
To excel in this position, the candidate should possess strong
interpersonal and communication skills as they will be
communicating consistently with program leadership and students.
They should have strong conflict resolution and behavior management
skills as they will work with high school students in a residential
setting. The candidate should be able to establish and maintain
strong working relationships with coworkers and also maintain
clear, professional boundaries with students. They should have the
ability to interpret and apply policies and respond in emergency
situations to serve as a first responder to incidents, accidents,
and emergencies. The candidate should also be a responsible
employee under Title IX and stay current with annual training. A
background in education, student support, summer camps or student
programs will help the candidate excel in this position. Minimum
Qualifications: Some college coursework, associates preferred, and
3 years experience related to the program, or an equivalent
combination of training and experience. CPR/First Aid training.
Experience working in a camp or student programs, experience with
residential programs. Experience working with rural and/or
Indigenous Alaska populations preferred. Position may require
driving an ANSEP vehicle. Applicant must be 21 and older to apply
and have a valid AK driver's license with three years of a driving
record on a valid driver's license Must be able to lift or move 25
to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. Knowledge,

Details: This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage.
This is a full-time, exempt (salary) temporary staff position. New
hires will be placed on the UA Temporary Staff Salary Schedule ,
