Alaska SPCA The Alaska SPCA is a local nonprofit dedicated to
preventing suffering and improving the lives of companion animals

staff, volunteers, animals, and the public can do their best work.
Were looking for a hands-on facilities professional who takes pride
in keeping things running, fixing problems the right way, and
looking out for safety. About the Job This is a working facilities
role, not a desk job. Youll be responsible for maintaining and
troubleshooting our buildings and systems, coordinating with
contractors when needed, and helping us plan ahead so small issues
dont become expensive emergencies. This position is full-time(40
hours per week). Occasional on-call availability may be needed for
urgent facility issues. The position is overtime eligible. What
Youll Be Doing Building & Equipment Maintenance Maintain and
troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, locks,
and general building systems Perform routine inspections and fix
issues before they become problems Respond to maintenance issues
and occasional after-hours emergencies Preventative Maintenance Set
up and follow a preventative maintenance schedule Keep basic
records of repairs, service work, and warranties Recommend repairs
or replacements when equipment is nearing end of life Vendors &
Contractors Work with outside contractors, inspectors, and service
providers Get quotes, coordinate schedules, and oversee work on
site Make sure work is completed safely, correctly, and within
budget Safety & Compliance Help ensure buildings are safe and
compliant with applicable codes Identify hazards and fix or report
them promptly Support inspections and corrective actions when
needed Projects & Improvements Assist with small renovation and
improvement projects Help identify cost-effective upgrades and
energy-saving opportunities Support facility needs as programs grow
or change What Were Looking For Required Experience 35 years of
hands-on experience in building maintenance, facilities work, or
skilled trades Practical working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing,
electrical, and general repairs Ability to work independently and
manage your own priorities Comfort working in an active environment
that includes animals Valid drivers license Nice to Have Trade
certifications or licenses (HVAC, electrical, facilities, etc.)
Experience in shelters, clinics, healthcare, schools, or similar
facilities Familiarity with safety standards and basic code
compliance Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 70 lbs Use
ladders, tools, and maintenance equipment Work indoors and outdoors
