Job Description:
The Department of Communication, within the Community and
Technical College at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA),
invites applications for a full-time Term Instructor of
Communication beginning August 2026. UAA's Department of
Communication services a diverse student population across Alaska
and beyond, including dual-enrolled high school students,
first-generation college students, military personnel, returning
adults, and English language learners. We are committed to
fostering inclusive, engaging learning environments that reflect
the cultural and linguistic diversity of our region. The Department
offers a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, a minor in
Communication, and four Oral Communication General Education
Requirement (GER) courses that serve the university's general
education mission, including COMM A111: Fundamentals of Oral
Communication, COMM A237: Interpersonal Communication, COMM A241:
Small Group Communication, and COMM A243: Public Speaking. The
successful candidate will have a strong background in Communication
and experience teaching Communication courses at the post-secondary
level. They will demonstrate innovative, student-centered teaching
practices and a commitment to collaboration in achieving shared
goals. Minimum Qualifications: Masters in Communication or related
field, PhD preferred. Record of college service or demonstrated
potential for service. Position Details: This position is located
on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus. This is a full-time,
9-month, term-funded, non-tenure track, faculty position complete
with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package .
