Job Description:
The College of Health is seeking applications for a
Communications Coordinator to support the communications team and
will be responsible for developing and disseminating content via
internal and external communications and marketing channels. The
Communications Coordinator will work as part of the College of
Health’s communications team, and will be responsible for
developing and disseminating content for internal and external
communications and marketing channels. The incumbent will be
responsible for developing engaging content that reflects the
College’s strategic priorities, and for maintaining efficient
workflows for all the College’s communications channels. The
Communications Coordinator will collaborate closely with the
College of Health’s other communications staff, as well as with
faculty and staff. Ultimately, the position will have an important
role in building public awareness of the College’s academic
programs and activities, strengthening relationships with key
stakeholders and partners, and supporting the College’s student
recruitment efforts. Excellent written and verbal communication
skills, including demonstrated ability to develop written content
appropriate for a range of media, formats, and audiences. Ability
to create images and multimedia materials to support public
relations and communications goals. Excellent interpersonal and
collaborative skills, including the ability to interact with a
diverse group of students, faculty, and staff. Excellent attention
to detail Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
simultaneous responsibilities. Demonstrated analytical and
problem-solving skills. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of two
years’ relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training
and experience. Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism,
communications, marketing, or a related field. Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in
Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position
complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits
package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes

medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed
on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 79, based on education and
