RECRUITMENT FOR THIS POSITION CLOSES ON MONDAY, MAY 9, 2021.The Department of Corrections, Division of Health and Rehabilitative Services, is recruiting for an Administrative Officer 2 position located at the Anchorage Central Office in Anchorage, Alaska. What you will be doing:This position will be directly responsible for the administrative support functions for the Division of Health & Rehabilitation Services. Focus is on financial management, budget projections, human resources, procurement, contract management, supervisory, and other administrative duties. This position works in a office setting with other staff.Who we are looking for someone with:Supervisory experienceConsiderable knowledge of administrative processes necessary to support the operations of a division, such as financial monitoring, accounts receivable, personnel, contract management, purchasing and inventory.Experience effectively managing the work of others, coaching direct reports and working effectively in a team setting with individuals from a variety of backgrounds at different levels in the organization to achieve goals and objectives.Ability to evaluate workflow and position management and recommend changes to organizational structure and business processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency, or to meet the needs of new programs.Experience with IRIS Financial and HRMSkill in organizing workloads, setting priorities, and coordinating concurrent timelines/schedules.Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel and Outlook). Minimum QualificationsTwo years of professional/administrative-level experience providing administrative support to a business or organization. The required experience includes work such as Administrative Officer 1, Accountant 2, Human Resource Specialist 1, Procurement Specialist 2, Grants Administrator 2, and similar administrative classes with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.Additional Required InformationCOVER LETTERA cover letter is required for this position. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
